Hanoi currently has 371 vocational education centers. The event is held every 3 years, which is an useful playground for teachers to showcase their profession knowledge and skills. This is also an opportunity for teachers from all vocational education centers to exchange experience and learn from each other.

How are results from previous events affecting the vocational education of Hanoi?

Firstly, teachers who have high achievements in the event  at school level are exmample for everyone to refer and learn from. For the event at city and country level, teachers with high achievements will be the core and play essential part in promoting the campaign of teaching well, studying well in every school. These teaching methods will help students to learn from the best, and their skills are trained efficiently. From this foundation, it will increase the rate of students being employed right after graduation.

In recent years, vocational education is short of students applying for study. What do vocational schools have to do to ensure the scope and enhance training quality to meet enterprises’ requirements?

At present, in addition to advantages, the system of vocational education in Hanoi faces challenges in attracting students. Besdies some centers with high number of students applying, there remains school do not meet the target of recruitment. Schools have increased promotion and cooperation closely with middle schools and high schools for consulting in career orientation. With the effort from the vocational education system, in recent 2 yeras, the rate of students after graduating from middle and high schools going to vocational schools has significantly increased.

The rate of students applying and enhancing the quality in training in relation with the number of students employed will gradually cement the status of vocational schools. As such, vocational schools have cooperated with enterprises in modifying the teaching methods to match practical needs, accepting students for internship and willing to provide equipments, so that students can complete their training course efficiently.

What is the percentage of students right after graduating from vocational schools employed?

At present More than 70% students of vocational schools are employed. 90% of students studying sought-after jobs will be employed right away after graduation, including mechanics and tourism. We believe university is not the only way for students to prepare for their future careers. The most important things are how they study and start their careers to fulfil their potential. This is what students are looking forward to.

The incoming industrial revolution 4.0 means modern technologies. When the state budget of Hanoi and revenue from tuition fee are limited, how can vocational schools to apply the industrial revolution 4.0 in training?

This is the concern of the leaders of Hanoi. Obviously, the city’s state budget can not cover for all schools. However, in accordance with the Hanoi’s policies, the city will invest in some school to reach international and regional standards. Besdies, these vocational schools have to take advantages from the cooperation with enterprises, so that students can access modern technologies and equipment. Vocational schools need to continue cooperating with related organizations and individual to call for investment from international organizations, non-governmental organizations to invest in equipment and infrastructure to serve the purpose of teaching.
