“Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival”, which takes place from September 19 to 26, is an annual event to promote tourism potential of Yen Bai province, which targets to receive 750,000 arrivals by the end of 2019.

As a traditional dance of the Thai ethnic minority, Xoe dance involves people holding hands and performing six traditional acts, including welcoming, clapping hands, waving scarves, and offering wine.
During this year's festival, visitors can enjoy the unique art performances including a 3D mapping dance performance named “The quintessence of legend”.
Yen Bai gathers 30 ethnic minorities who live in enthralling landscapes of mountains with rivers and rice terraces such as the imposing Hoang Lien Son mountain range, Mu Cang Chai rice terraces, Thac Ba lake, the cinnamon land of Van Yen, Luc Yen - the land of gems, and Muong Lo, where Xoe Thai dance originated from.

Among a series of events of the Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism and the Discovery of the National Landscape of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields Festivals in 2019, there are many other notable activities namely the Northwest Food Fair 2019, Photo exhibition of Yen Bai’s land and people and the festivals of paragliding, green rice flakes grinding and mother tea tree honoring, among others.
