Myanmar, Vietnam enjoy growing ties

Vietnam- Myanmar relations have seen positive developments in the time-honoured friendship and all-sided cooperation, especially in business and investment.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said this to newly-accredited Myanmar Ambassador to Vietnam Uyn Lai at a March 27 reception in Hanoi.

FM Minh said he hopes that Myanmar will continue to maintain its stability and growth and successfully take over the role of the ASEAN chair this year as well as contribute to peace, cooperation and development in the region.

Host and guest also discussed measures to step up bilateral cooperation and their collaboration at regional and international forums in the two peoples’ interests and for the regional peace and stability.

Uyn Lai affirmed his tireless efforts to help expand and deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two foreign ministries.
