Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening the traditional friendship and cooperation for mutual benefit with African countries, including Tanzania, said National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
NA Chairman Hung made the statement on October 28 in Hanoi while meeting with Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.
Hung suggested the two countries should beef up cooperation in the fields of agriculture, trade and education.
He spoke highly of the Tanzanian President’s current State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of State President Truong Tan Sang, saying the visit is timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Tanzania diplomatic relations.
The Vietnamese NA Chairman expressed his pleasure at fine development in bilateral ties, especially in legislative work and regular visit exchange.
Hung hoped that the two sides will continue holding their responsibility for supervising and effectively implementing agreements previously signed by both countries, as well as sharing experience in law building.
He pledged to do his utmost to foster the cooperative relations with Tanzania for legitimate interests of the two nations.
President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete said his visit aims to develop the comprehensive relations with Vietnam and open up new cooperation opportunities in the future.
