Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Sinh Hung met with World Bank (WB) Country Director in Vietnam Victoria Kwakwa in Hanoi on August 24, ahead of his official visit to the US to attend the fourth conference of parliament speakers.
At the reception, the Chairman expressed his delight at meeting Director Victoria Kwakwa and appreciated the WB’s support to Vietnam over the past time, especially in policy consultation, technical and financial assistance, contributing to the country’s poverty reduction and renovation cause.
Chairman Hung hoped that Vietnam and the WB will discuss more about the country’s reforms, the NA’s role, public debts and their impacts on official development assistance.
For her part, Kwakwa praised the role of the NA in legislation, particularly the 2013 Constitution, and commited to help Vietnam solve public debts and fine-tune laws regarding policies, economic and trade affairs.
