The VNU-HCM should continue to renew curriculums and methodology, promote creativity and activeness in training and improve the quality of scientific studies, President Sang said.

To realize the above-mentioned tasks, the university should develop a competent staff, boost international relations and linkages with other universities and academies in the country, enhance social involvement in education and training and gradually implement its autonomy in all fields.

The VNU-HCM was established on January 27, 1995 by merging nine universities in southern region. It is a member of the Association of Universities of the Francophone (AUF), the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and the Eurocom of six leading European technical universities.
