Nearly 400,000 Vietnamese SMEs access to digital transformation information

USAID and LinkSME will continue promoting and expanding activities to support businesses to connect, transform and access finance for SMEs through documenting and replicating successful support models across the country.

Nearly 400,000 Vietnamese businesses have had access to digital transformation-related information channels via two platforms digital.business.gov.vn and a2f.business.gov.vn from 2021 and the first six months of 2022.

Such is the result of the Supporting Enterprises’ Digital Transformation program in the 2021-2025 period,  conducted by the MPI’s Enterprise Development Department in collaboration with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Linkages for Small and Medium Enterprises (LinkSME) since 2020.

The program's goal is to make 100% of enterprises aware of digital transformation and support at least 100,000 businesses in using digital transformation readiness evaluation tools and other digital solutions. In addition, it aims for at least 100 manufacturing and processing companies to successfully embrace digital transformation.

To reach the goal, the two agencies have developed two digital information platforms which provide information about digital transformation, support activities, training programs, documents, and tools and connect SMEs with consultants and digital solution providers.

To continue to support the participants in the program, the two agencies also launched three products at a conference titled “Empowering small and medium enterprises through Digital Transformation and accessing finance” on July 25.

These products conform to a digital transformation readiness assessment tool for SMEs, and a digital transformation manual for businesses in the agricultural and industrial sectors has been developed, digitized, and integrated into this portal platform.

Speaking at the conference, Le Manh Hung, Director General of the Enterprise Development Agency, said the two agencies will continue promoting and expanding activities to support businesses to connect, transform and access finance through documenting and replicating successful support models across the country.

These activities will be expected to be timely and meaningful activities to help businesses grasp the development of trends in the domestic and international markets so that they can persistently overcome difficulties and develop strongly.

The two agencies also conducted training programs on accessing and building financial strategies for more than 500 SMEs, of which 14 businesses received in-depth consulting on debt restructuring and accessed loans totaling up to US$5 million.

According to the MPI's results, more than 600 businesses are ready to apply digital transformation and 100 others received support with one-on-one in-depth consulting on digital transformation.
