The average temperatures nationwide in summer months will be between 0.5-1 degree Celcius higher than normal due to the impacts of El Nino pattern while less rainfalls means water shortages will continue in central Vietnam until mid-September, the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting warned.
All regions across the country are likely to experience higher temperatures and less rain falls between June and August this year compared to the yearly average level.
In central region, the hot spell is expected to continue for the next 10 days with an average high temperature ranging from 36 to 39 degree C and even exceeding 40 degree C in some areas.
