The “Calligraphy Festival of the Year of the Rooster 2017” is a playground for calligraphers to create the most beautiful and creative letters to welcome the spring.
The festival, themed on “Tôn sư trọng đạo” (Respect the teachers), will feature nearly 30 selected calligraphy works in Hán-Nôm with various materials, styles, quotations, poetry, etc.
In addition to the annual activities such as calligraphy performances, giving letters, calligraphy exhibition, you are invited to traditional villages which showcase products such as ceramic porcelain, weaving, paper, folk paintings, wood carvings, bronze casting, etc… There are specific areas for folk painting and games such as to he, oan quan, etc…
The festival will take place from 21 Jan to 11 Feb (24 Dec – 15 Jan of the lunar calendar), from 8.30 am – 8 pm daily. Especially, on 30 Dec the festival will last until 2am the following day and on 01 and 02 Jan, until 10 pm.
