Number of international visitors to Hanoi rises impressively

Though affected by the economic downturn, the number of international tourists to Hanoi has gained impressive growth with an average increase of over 10%, accounting for 40% of the national tourism growth rate.

Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Do Dinh Hong said from the beginning of this year, Hanoi welcomed nearly 3 million international visitors, up 14% and 14.5 million domestic tourists, increasing by 7% compared to the same period last year.
According to Director Hong, the city received foreign tourists from 160 countries and territories worldwide, including markets: Western Europe, Northeast Asia, Australia, North America and many other markets.
In the 2010-2015 period, though faced difficulties from economic downturn, the number of international visitors to the capital has still achieved the impressive growth with an average increase of over 10%, accounting for 40% of the national tourism growth rate.
In the recent years, Hanoi tourism sector has constantly enhanced its efficient management, developed unique, qualified and competitive tourism products  such as tours of historical cultural sightseeings and crafts shopping, festival travel, and mice tourism.

During the period, Hanoi has concentrated on boosting cooperative activities  to promote its tourism potentials and advantages. Besides, the municipal Department of Tourism has also paid attention to promote pictures, develop and advertise the city's tourism.
At present, Hanoi has been investing modern and synchronous infrastructures for tourism sector, as well as creating top-quality tourism products to make the capital of Hanoi become an attractive destination, desired to be the key tourist center of the country and the region.
