Hanoi is expected to earn around VND8,710 billion (US$375 million) from tourism in August, up 35.2% year-on-year.
Hanoi is estimated to have welcomed 2,529,311 visitors in August, up 10.7% year-over-year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
Of the amount, international arrivals are estimated at 541,311, up 17,5%, of which stay-over tourists are 380,000, up 14.5%. Meanwhile the number of domestic visitors is 1.988 million, up 9%.

The cumulative number of travelers to Hanoi is forecast to reach 19.32 million in the first eight months of the year, 9.5% more than the previous year. Of the figure, foreign tourists to Hanoi would total 4.274 million, an increase of 10.5% and the number of stay-over is expected to reach 3 million, an increase of 7.7%. The number of national tourists would be around 15.04 million, up 9.2%.
Total revenue collected from tourists in the period is estimated at VND67,220 billion (US$2.9 billion), up 31.1% year-on-year.
