This was announced by Thua Thien-Hue Department of Tourism on May 4. Accordingly, after four months of launching the contest of making advertising films, creating logos and slogans for Thua Thien Hue tourism (from August 1 to November 30, 2017), the Organizing Committee had received 193 works in three categories.
After two rounds of preliminary and final, they chose the logo and slogan to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for using in the identification of Hue tourism’s brand name. The first prize of the contest of creating logos for Thua Thien Hue`s tourism belongs to Nguyen Thien Duc (Thua Thien-Hue province) with logos image of the Meridian Gate, Truong Tien Bridge, Huong River and the sun.

These contests are aimed to select of typical works for official use in the propaganda and promotion activities of Thua Thien Hue’s tourism industry.
In 2017, Thua Thien-Hue welcomed around 3.8 million visitors, a pickup of 16% against the year earlier, including 1.5 million foreigners, a 42% year-on-year surge while tourism revenue hit VND3.52 trillion (US$155 million), up 10% against 2016, according to the province department of tourism.
In the first quarter of 2018, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue welcomed more than 1.1 million visitors, up 39.5% from the same period last year, including 534,600 foreigners, a surge of 70.3%. This is the first time the number of tourists to the province has exceeded 1 million in a quarter.
In 2018, the Thua Thien-Hue tourism aims to serve up to 4.2 million visitors, up about 12% year on year, with revenue of about VND4.2 trillion (US$184 million), up 15-16% over the previous year.
