Opening session of National Congress in photos

Guests are invited to attend the opening and closing sessions of the nine-day congress.

The opening session of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s 13th Congress marks the participation of nearly 1,600 delegates who represent nearly 5.2 million Party members nationwide.

The representatives include official delegates and guests who are former leaders, veteran officials who made merits to the country’s revolution, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, among others.

Incumbent top leaders, including the CPV’s Secretary General and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

 The CPV's Secretary General and State President Nguyen Phu Trong gives speech on the Assessment Report of the 12th Congress and documents for the 13th Congress.
