The organising board will arrange a professional working area for US travel agents and domestic travel agents to contact and work together. During the upcoming VITM, the Vietnam Tourism Association and the American Travel Association are planning to sign a cooperation agreement, which will be the first official activity to establish a direct relationship with the American Tourism, a major tourism market in the world.
This cooperation agreement is expected to open up opportunities for Vietnamese tourism businesses to attract more visitors from the US as well as facilitate Vietnamese travelers to the market.
In additiion, VITM Hanoi 2017 will hold the International Street Food Festival for the first time with the participation of dozens of famous chefs from Vietnam and other countries in the region.
The festival aims to promote street food in Vietnam, while making a chance for visitors and local residents to enjoy unique street foods of several countries in the region.
The event is expected to feature about 652 enterprises and tourism management and promotion agencies from 43 of Vietnam’s cities and provinces and 25 countries and territories. The fair hopes to attract some 60,000 visitors.
During the upcoming fair, there will be many large-scale booths, designed elaborately, such as the Hanoi Pavilion 180m2, Vietravel 180m2 and Hanoi Redtours 120m2.

In addition to activities in destination presentation and tourism stimulation from local exhibitors, VITM 2017 also offers contests, traditional arts performances, conferences and workshops.
Organized the first time in 2013, this year’s event is the fifth edition and considered Vietnam’s premier professional tourism event and one of the largest travel shows in the region.
Last year, Vietnam welcomed more than 10 million international arrivals, up 26 per cent year-on-year, according to VNAT.
With a population of 92 million and rapid expansion in the number of middle class families, the demand for outbound travel has increased dramatically. In 2016, there were more than 6.5 million Vietnamese people travelling overseas, an increase of 15 per cent year-on-year.
Over 45,000 low air tickets and over 15,000 special discount package tours will be offered at VITM Hanoi 2017.
Not only will VITM Hanoi provide thousands of promotional tour packages and low air tickets, it will also bring the best opportunities to foreign tour operators and providers to promote destinations and seek new business deals.
VITM Hanoi 2016 attracted 734 agencies and enterprises with 502 booths, including 115 international booths from 25 countries and territories. There were about 2,500 enterprises and approximately 58,000 visitors, with over 15,000 domestic and outbound tours purchased and around 30,000 air tickets sold.
Hanoi, the country’s political, economic and cultural center, ranks among the world’s most attractive and interesting cities. Its placid air gives it a gracious, almost regal flavor, underscored by a rich history that traces back more than a thousand years, with a fascinating heritage on display in well-preserved, centuries-old architecture.
