The guest said he is glad to see the Vietnam - Japan relations growing steadily in a broad range of fields such as politics, economics, culture, education- training under the framework of extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia. Trong said he hopes that Keidanren will bring into full play what it has achieved over recent years as a further contribution to enhancing and developing broader cooperation with Vietnam.
Keidanren Vice President Hitoshi Ogita echoed Trong’s view as saying that Japan-Vietnam relations were based on mutual trust in politics, economics, and culture in which bilateral economic cooperation sees strong growth with Japan having injected US$37.3 billion into Vietnam and becoming the fourth largest trade partner of the country.
As a vast 90 million consumption market, Vietnam is considered an important gateway for Japan to enter ASEAN, the Keidanren President said while affirming his organization’s active participation in dialogues and policy consultation to help improve the investment environment in Vietnam and provide human resources training for the country
