During a reception, PM Phuc said Vietnam highly values strengthening bilateral cooperation and consulting experience from the RoK. The Vietnam-RoK strategic partnership has made big leap forward in different aspects like politics, security, national defense, economics, trade, and investment, said PM Phuc.

The RoK was Vietnam’s third largest trade partner. Meanwhile, Vietnam was the fourth biggest importer of the RoK. The two-way trade turnover hit over US$ 36.5 billion in 2015. The two countries owned supplementary strength in which Viet Nam has an abundant labor force and the RoK boasts  technological experience and economic development successes.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has affirmed that the Vietnamese government will provide all possible support for foreign firms, including those from the Republic of Korea (RoK), to do business in Vietnam, contributing to lifting two-way trade to US$70 billion in the next five years.

Vietnam appreciates the RoK’s knowledge sharing programme, which has plenty of practical lessons for the country, he said, adding that relevant Vietnamese agencies will learn from the RoK’s experience to improve policymaking. The host wished that both sides will continue discussions on conducting the programme together.

PM Phuc also affirmed that the Government would create favorable ways for foreign corporations and groups including Korean ones to expand their footholds in Viet Nam and strive for US$70 billion two-way trade turnover in the next five years.

For his part, Mr. Yoon Dae Hee pledged to spare no effort to cement and deepen the bilateral ties and promote the Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) of Korea to share experience on socio-economic development especially on policy making.
