VN-Australia relations promoted
Viet Nam-Australia Strategic Partnership relations have been enhanced over the past few years. The two sides have organized a number of high-ranking delegations exchanges. Recently, Australian PM Tony Abbott and State President Truong Tan Sang held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the APEC Summit in Beijing, China in November 2014.
Australia is the eight largest trade partner and the 19thlargest investor in Viet Nam. Cooperation in tourism, labor and transport between the teo countries has been promoted. As many as 29,500 Vietnamese students are studying in Australia.
Earlier, PM Dung paid an official visit to Australia in 2008.

VN-New Zealand relationship deepened
The two nations maintained high-ranking delegations exchanges such as the New Zealand Governor-General and FM’s visits to Viet Nam in 2013 and 2014, respectively and Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to New Zealand in 2013.
Two-way trade turnover increased from US$300 million in 2009 to US$794 million in 2014.
The two countries signed an agreement on national defense cooperation in November 2013, a labor cooperation agreement in 2012 and pacts in other areas.
PM Nguyen Tan Dung’s first visit to New Zealand will take place on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Viet Nam-New Zealand diplomatic ties.
