President meets wiht IMF Resident Representative

President Truong Tan Sang received IMF Resident Representative for Vietnam and Laos Sanjay Kalra, who is going to finish his tenure of working in Vietnam on July 27 in Hanoi.

At the reception, State President Truong Tan Sang highly appreciated the financial and consultative assistance to Vietnam from Kalra and the IMF, and adding that Vietnam welcomes further support and always listens to the fund’s frank recommendations to avoid restructuring mistakes made previously in other countries. 
Representative Kalra expressed his delight that IMF support has contributed to policymaking progress in Vietnam. 
Vietnam has demonstrated its stability while facing challenges from the economic restructuring process, he said. 
Kalra said he believes in Vietnam’s enhanced role in the region in the coming time.
