Thanking the Japanese Government and people for supporting Viet Nam's socio-economic development, especially through official development assistance (ODA), the top legislator pledged that Viet Nam would use this source effectively.
He also spoke highly of Japan's strong support condemning China's illegal deployment of the Haiyang Shiyou-981 oil rig and a large fleet of escort ships in Viet Nam's waters in early May.
He said he hoped that Japan would continue backing Viet Nam's stance on strictly abiding by international law and ensuring trade and maritime safety and freedom, while not letting peace, stability and co-operation in the region be threatened.
