Promote cooperation between the Veterans' Associations of Hanoi and Vientiane

On Nov 30, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dao Duc Toan welcomed the delegation from Vientiane Veterans` Association (The Lao People`s Democratic Republic).


The delegation was led by Mr. Sonchay Khamavongkeo, Deputy President of Vientiane Veterans' Association to visit and work in Hanoi.
During the meeting, two sides appraised the sound good friendship between people and army of Vietnam and Laos as well as Hanoi and Vientiane over the past years.

Highly appreciated the visit when the two countries have organized many events on the occcation of the 55th anniversary of the diplomatic relations, Mr. Dao Duc Toan emphasized: In the development process of friendship between Vietnam and Lao, there is important contribution of the People's Army and the veterans of the two countries, not only sharing in the most difficult times of struggling for national liberation, but also in the development process. He noted that both sides have continuously exchanged high-ranking delegations to boost cooperation and share experience in all fields.

During the recent visit of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, the two cities signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in 2017-2020, laying a foundation for specific bilateral cooperation in the future, he said..
According to the Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dao Duc Toan, Hanoi goverment always wished to maintain a close relationship with Vientiane. The city leaders shall support and facilitate the cooperation between Hanoi and Vientiane Veterans' Association in particular as well as between the socio-political organizations of the two capitals in general. Mr. Dao Duc Toan believes that through this visit, both parties will continue to promote cooperation, contributing to the deep friendship relation between the two capitals.
Thanks to the warm welcome from the leaders of Hanoi, Vice President of Vientiane Veterans' Association said that this visit is to enhance the experiences exchanges. At the same time, the association shall continue to implement the contents of the cooperation memorandum between the two associations. Mr. Sonchay Khamavongkeo stated that in the coming time, the association will continue expanding relations with veterans’ associations in different localities of Vietnam.
