On the occasion the on-going 11th Asia-Pacific Week Forum held in Berlin from May 23 to June 3, the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany organised a workshop in Berlin on May 24 to introduce Vietnamese food culture and promote tourism in the country.

Attending the event were Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Vietnam–Germany Friendship Association Wilfried Lulei, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Forum Gert Bruche, representatives from the Embassies of ASEAN, overseas Vietnamese and local students.
The workshop themed “Promoting Vietnamese cultural tourism” is part of the activities in the framework of the on-going 11th Asia-Pacific Week Forum (APW) that is being held in Berlin from May 23 to June 3.
Speaking at the workshop, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Doan Xuan Hung underlined the growing relationship between the two nations, highlighted by the visit of President Truong Tan Sang to Germany in 2015.
Ambassador Hung said that Vietnam owns many beautiful landscapes, rich cultural cuisine, especially the dish "Pho", a Vietnamese noodle soup which is a popular street food and the specialty of a number of restaurant chains around the world.
He expressed his hope that many German and international friends will have the opportunity to visit Vietnam in the coming time.
The two countries will celebrate the 5th anniversary of their strategic partnership in 2016, the Vietnamese diplomat said.
Vietnam hopes to introduce to German people a friendly and safe country, an attractive destination for international tourists, the Ambassador said.
Agreeing with the Vietnamese diplomat on the growing relationship between the two nations, President of the Forum Gert Bruche believed that the bilateral relations, particularly in economic cooperation will achieve greater success in the future.
Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Vietnam – Germany Friendship Association Wilfried Lulei hailed the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the struggle for liberation as well as in national building and development.
During the workshop, several video clips were screened to feature the renowned destinations and cuisine of Vietnam, such as Ha Long Bay, Son Doong cave, Hoi An ancient City, and the Vietnamese signature: Pho (noodle soup).
Finishing the event, the delegates were invited to taste the Vietnamese Pho (noodle soup) cooked by a Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin.
APW is an annual event hosted by the Berlin Ministry of Technology and Research under the auspices of the German President.
The forum comprises an “Embassy Day”, when the Embassies of Asian-Pacific nations in Berlin can promote the potential for socio-economic and environmental development, and investment and trade.
