Recognising additional 13 national relic sites

The Prime Minister recently has signed the decision to recognise 13 more places as national special relic sites in terms of history, architecture and landscape.

The newly-recognized relic sites are:
1. The Hoa Lai Tower art architectural and archaeological relic site in Thuan Bac district, Ninh Thuan province.
2. The Cham Temple Tower Po Klong Garai art architectural relic site in Phan Rang city, Ninh Thuan province.
3. The Dong Duong Institute of Buddhism - an archaeological relic site in Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province
4. The An Phu - Kinh Chu - Nham Duong historical and scenic complex in Kinh Mon district, Hai Duong province.

5. Keo pagoda architectural relic site in Xuan Truong district, Nam Dinh province.
6. Bo Da pagoda historical-architectural relic site in Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province.
7. The tomb and memorial site of Nguyen Dinh Chieu in Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province
8. The memorial site of Phan Boi Chau in Nam Dan district, Nghe An province.
9. The Bac Son uprising historical relic site in Bac Son district, Lang Son province.
10. The Cho Don Safety Zone historical relic site in Cho Don district, Bac Kan province.
11. The historical relic site where the 2nd National Party Congress took place in Chiem Hoa district, Tuyen Quang province.
12. The Dong Khoi Ben Tre historical relic site in Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province.
13. The Dak To – Tan Canh Victory historical relic site in Dak To district, Kon Tum province.
The Hoa Lai tower complex in Thuan Bac district, Ninh Thuan province, is believed to be constructed during the early 9th century, and originally comprised three towers, with one destroyed during the war and one remaining almost intact. The structure, typical for the Hoa Lai architecture, is among the oldest Champa towers found in Vietnam.
The Po Klong Garai tower complex is another Champa architecture on the list. It is located 7km west to the centre of Phan Rang city and is where the local Kate festival, the biggest event of Cham people following Brahmanism, is held every year.
The Dong Duong Buddhist monastery, a Champa ruins in Thang Binh district, was among the largest Buddhism hub of the Champa Kingdom era (192-1832).
The Bo Da Pagoda in Viet Yen District was built in the 11th century under the Ly Dynasty, the golden age of Buddhism in Vietnam. It has preserved Buddhist woodblocks and ancient architecture for hundreds of years.
The Prime Minister has asked the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chairman of the People's Committees of provinces having national relic sites to implement their managements under the provisions of cultural heritage.
