Red Journey, a nationwide humanitarian blood donation program, has collected 47,825 units of blood since its implementation in July, the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) reported.

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tri, Head of the NIHBT, the program attracted the participation of 120 volunteers from a variety of ministries and agencies and nearly 15,000 volunteers across 25 provinces and cities where the program was conducted.
Throughout the program, 242 blood donation phases were withheld while it saw a dissemination of Thalassemia disease as well as a calling on to support Thalassemia patients.
