Research and education network launched

Hanoi Times – The Ministry of Science and Technology officially put the Vietnam Research and Education Network (VINAREN) into operation nationwide o­n March 27.

Hanoi Times – The Ministry of Science and Technology officially put the Vietnam Research and Education Network (VINAREN) into operation nationwide o­n March 27.

VINAREN is a non-profit network that supports Vietnam’s research and training activities by connecting to research organizations, universities and libraries worldwide.

The network link-ups have been made to assist in information sharing and to boost cooperation.

The network also provides high-speed and effective internet services using links with up to 155 Mbps capacity.

VINAREN now has three regional network operation centers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang city and 50 members.
