Rock band Scorpions from Germany will be the special guests of the annual Monsoon Music Festival 2016 which is scheduled for October 21-23 in Hanoi`s Thang Long Royal Citadel.
General director of the Monsoon Music Festival 2016, musician Quoc Trung said at a press conference in Hanoi on August 15, Germany's Scorpions band will perform in the capital city’s Thang Long Royal Citadel on October 23 as special guests.
Scorpions is the most successful band in Europe. In Germany, the band has sold more than 1 million copies of "Crazy World".
The event aims to expand culture in society and disseminate values on environmental protection and healthcare to the community.
Musician Quoc Trung said the performance is part of the band’s tour to many countries to mark the group’s 50th anniversary.
This year’s Monsoon Music Festival themed “ I participate - I act - I change - I share” will host several other renowned artists.
In addition to the Scorpions band, the Monsoon Music Festival 2016 took place in 2016 will attract the participation of diva My Linh and famous singer Tung Duong.
Singer My Linh will be the special guest at the performance of October 22. Participating in this year's festival for the first time, singer Tung Duong will perform songs in the new project - "Re cay" (Roots) - made with young musician Sa Huynh.
Foreign bands such as SaveUs from Denmark, Last Train from France, Rukhsana Merrise from UK, Kite from Sweden, DJ and VJ 100LDK Julien Sato from Japan, Goodluck from South Africa, Idiotape from Republic of Korea and DJ Brezel Goring from Germany are also expected to entertain audiences with impressive performances.

First arriving in Vietnam in 2014, the festival received major public praise. The event was considered an outstanding cultural festival and won the Programme of the Year at the Cong Hien (Devotion) Music Awards 2016, organised by The Thao & Van Hoa (Sports and Culture) - a Vietnam News Agency publication.
