Rowing won four gold medals in the morning of June 11. Rower Nguyen Van Linh won the first gold medal with a victory in the men’s 500m lightweight single event, completing the race in 1:33.64 minutes.
Pair Ta Thanh Huyen and Pham Thi Thao claimed the second rowing gold medal for Vietnam after finishing first in the women’s 500m lightweight double event with a time of 1:33.35.
Le Thi An and Pham Thi Hue won the third gold medal in the women’s 500m pair event, finishing in 1:38.87 minutes.
The fourth rowing gold medal for Vietnam was won by pair Nguyen Dinh Huy and Dam Van Hieu in the men’s 500m pair event with a time of 1:27.63 minutes.
Vietnam also took silvers in the men’s lightweight double and the men’s lightweight four events.
Shooting also won a gold medal on June 11 when shooting star Hoang Xuan Vinh, who scored 190.9 points in the men’s 50m pistol event.

The four were Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Thi Thuy Quach Thi Lan and Nguyen Thi Huyen.
In the men’s 1500m event, Duong Van Thai successfully defended his title. He just mixed in the leading group until the last turn into the straight where he picked up his speed to race to the finish line after 3:47.04 minutes.
Mervin Guarte of Phillipines came in second with 3:48.06 and Yothin Yaprajan of Thailand was third with 3:49.35.
Do Thi Thao met no real challenge when she coasted to the finish line after 4:28.39 minutes. Her teammate Nguyen Thi Phuong came in second with 4:31.59 and Thet Phyu War of Myanmar was third.
Track and field athletes also brought home another four silver medals in the men’s high jump through Dao Van Thuy, the women’s 10000m through Pham Thi Hue, the women’s 1500m through Nguyen Thi Phuong and the women’s triple jump by Tran Hue Hoa.
