The second National External Information Service Awards 2015 were officially launched in Hanoi on December 17.
The awards aim to recognise and honour outstanding authors and journalism works in the field of external information and communication, said Pham Van Linh – Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education.
This year’s competition is organised by the commission and the Steering Committee for External Information Service, and chaired by the Vietnam Television.
The Party official said this is the second year the event has been held, continuing to affirm the role of external information service, encouraging reporters’ engagement in the work, and tightening the coordination among press agencies specialised in external information services, between internal and external information services, and among agencies, units and localities. It ultimately aims to promote the effectiveness of the external communication mission assigned by the Party and State.
Entries must be written in Vietnamese or other languages under the formats of print newspaper, radio broadcasting, television broadcasting, online newspaper and press photo.
They must be intended for foreigners or overseas Vietnamese people and were published on Vietnamese or foreign mass media from January 1 to December 31, 2015.
