STEM – creative and scientific playground for students
On October 05, Giang Vo middle school (Ba Dinh District) has held the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) day and book reading, which attracted thousands of students and teacher to take part in the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Principal of Giang Vo middle school Doan Cong Thao said, STEM integrated activities will inspire students with passion for study, which helps them to see the connection between knowledge and aware of the importance of knowledge for the development of society in the future. Since the academic year 2016 – 2017, Giang Vo middle school has begun implementing STEM education in school activities through the foundation and organizing STEM club and Robotic club.

Especially, difference in STEM activities compared to other school, Giang Vo middle school has integrated creative activities with the reading campaign of the school. The school has successfully established the campaign “Donating one book, reading thousands of pages” with 73 book stores for all kind of classes in school. Clubs are equipped with nearly 20,000 books from all kinds of categories. The school also organizes 300 books presentation, which found the passion for book reading, improving the awareness of self-studying and completing personalities for students. With these successes, the school continues with educational activities, which focuses on new teaching method, new way of studying, brainstorming and the personalities of students with the motto learning by practice” – Mr. Thao said.

At the event, students participated in programs such as Mathematics song, STEM – passion for science; Opening a book – Building dream; Exhibition for new books; Biology experience; Geography experience; Chemistry experience; I love foreign language… These topics are built and performed in stage, which attracts the participation of students.
