STI Days 2016 shares EU's experience for domestic start-up companies
The national Department of Science, Information and Technology under the Ministry of Science and Technology organised the ASEAN-EU Science, Technology and Innovation Days (STI Days) 2016 in Hanoi on May 10.
The STI Days 2016 is expected to be a platform for scientists, policymakers and innovation companies of Vietnam and the EU countries to promote cooperation in science and technology.
The STI Days are held annually on a rotational basis between ASEAN and EU countries. This year’s event runs until May 12.
The third STI Days attracted the participation of over 350 international delegates from nearly 40 countries around the world, including the UK, France, Germany, Finland, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
The 2016 STI Days are expected to feature 15 workshops along with 24 exhibition booths of 10 nations.
This year's event includes numerous activities such as: Workshop on cooperation in science and technology between the two regions; conferences and scientific seminars on health, water resource management, security and food safety, measurement, innovation and business connectivity.
Specialists will also gather at meetings to discuss such topics as the main social challenges concerned by both regions, and the connection between infectious diseases, water, food and energy.
Besides, the STI Days 2016 will also organise an exhibition on innovation with the aim of promoting scientific and technology capacity as well as innovation of the ASEAN countries with partners in Europe.
Director of the national Department of Science, Information and Technology Le Xuan Dinh said that the event is part of activities to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day, May 18.
The STI Days 2016 is a chance for Vietnamese scientists, researchers, managers in science and technology to meet, exchange and share information, seek cooperation opportunities with partners in the EU and ASEAN.
The event also creates the favourable conditions for domestic researchers and scientists to expand their research networks and access to EU's excellent researchs.
Specially, start-up firms will have the opportunity to learn experience from innovation companies through their innovative solutions dispayed at the STI Days 2016.
