Professors, doctors, scientists and military leaders gathered in Central Quang Binh province’s Dong Hoi city on May 6 to attend a symposium featuring General Vo Nguyen Giap and the historic Dien Bien Phu victory.
More than 40 reports presented at the event expressed the different points of view on ethical issues, personality, talent, intelligence and the enormous contributions of General Vo Nguyen Giap in the resounding Dien Bien Phu victory.
Discussions focused on two main areas-military science and social sciences- humanities.
In terms of military science, the information provided clarified the General’s role, position and ability to deal with strategic issues and mobilize forces, his dynamic thinking, military firmness and tactical use of the battlefield.
On social sciences and humanity, the reports focused on analyzing and clarifying important factors such as family, native land, childhood and the revolutionary process that created the personality of the legendary General.
Ass.Prof. Dr. Hoang Duong Hung, Rector of Quang Binh University said through the symposium, the role, position and stature of General Vo Nguyen Giap were once again highlighted, profoundly influencing younger generations.
“He left an invaluable legacy for the people and is the noble symbol of true revolutionary ethics. General Giap devoted his life to the people and the country with great respect from international friends.” Dung concluded.
