The city is strengthening linkages, promoting cooperation, sharing information, and supporting localities together to gear up tourism recovery.
Dramatic drops in arrivals were seen in major markets such as China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan (China), Europe and the US.
The city would select key tourist spots to focus investment in so as to develop those spots into high-quality tourist destinations in a long term, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu told Hanoimoi.
Located at the center of the city, Van Mieu, or the Temple of Literature, is a complex rich and diverse in historical relics of Hanoi.
Local enterprises need to boost promotional activities and refresh the image of Vietnam as “a safe and friendly destination where visitors’ health is secured.”
The city’s tourism industry saw a slight increase in number of tourists in May compared to April.
Prior to the pandemic, the city’s tourism had set the target of welcoming over 23 million domestic tourists, a year-on-year increase of 8%.
