Vietnam should focus on accelerating urbanization and the development of a network of national smart cities with links with their peers worldwide.

Vietnam has proposed an initiative on investment kits for ASEAN smart urban cities as a way for member countries to better assess the feasibility of smart city projects.

Hanoi is home to 434 projects financed by Singaporean investors with a combined registered capital of US$7.43 billion, the amount which is second only to Japan's.
