Thousands of people gathered in Hanoi at August Revolution Square on March 29 to observe the Earth Hour Campaign 2014 and show their support for climate and energy conservation and preservation.
Meanwhile, a large-scale rally was also staged in HCM city in observation of the fifth annual event.
Under the message “Action for a Greener Earth”, the event aims to encourage people to conserve energy, raise public awareness about the benefits of saving energy, environmental protection and adaptation to global climate change.
During the one hour of saving energy in response to the campaign, (20:30pm to 21:30pm), estimated 431.000kWh have been saved, equivalent to an amount of VND650 million.
