The Capital City makes effort to prevent diseases

The Office of the Hanoi People’s Committee issued Announcement 261/TB-VP dated October 23, stating conclusion of Vice Chairman Ngo Van Quy at online conference on dengue fever prevention and fighting.


 
In an effort to control dengue fever in Hanoi, the Municipal People’s Committee requests Directors and Heads of city’s departments and agencies, Chairpeople of districts and towns, agencies and units headquartered in the city to take drastic measures as following:

Conducting further popularization of dengue fever prevention and control; accordingly, People’s Committees of districts and towns shall direct Sections of Heath, Sections of Culture and Information, Health Center in cooperation with Commissions of Propaganda and Education of districts and towns and relevant units to conduct popularization, and encourage people to take preventive measures themselves;

Taking measures comprehensively to kill mosquito larvae and spray chemicals thoroughly, especially in families and offices; spray repellents, especially in 236 disease-infected areas according to instruction of the health authorities. The Department of Health is in charge of mobilizing staffs to spray chemicals efficiently.


 
Steering Committees for Disease Prevention and Control of districts and towns shall continue effort for inspection, and urge communes, wards and towns to take drastic measures for disease prevention and fighting.

The Department of Health shall direct hospitals to receive and offer treatment to dengue fever victims, and guide them how to prevent further spread of the disease; cooperate with relevant units to assess the status of diseases in 2017, build plans for 2018, and report to the Hanoi People’s Committee.

People’s Committees of districts and towns shall direct medical units to clean up the environment, collect and handle waste properly, in particular waste in the districts affected by recent flood and rain.
