The Capital to modernize technology in mining industry

According to the Office Letter No. 3461/UBND-KT issued on July 14, the Hanoi People’s Committee asked relevant departments, sectors, agencies, People’s Committees of districts, towns to implement the Decision No. 259/QD-TTg dated January 22, 2017 of the Prime Minister.

 
Under the document, to effectively implement the Decision No. 259/QĐ-TTg dated January 22, 2017 of the Prime Minister on approving the scheme “Innovating and modernizing technology in the mining industry by 2025”, the Ha Noi People’s Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to take prime responsibility and cooperate with relevant departments, sectors, units to give instruction to deploy the scheme; establish and recommend missions of science and technology for national key programs to innovate, modernize technology in the mining industry; proactively coordinate with authorized agencies, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, relevant ministries and sectors to well carry out major missions of the project (if any), etc.
 

 

In addition, the Department of Construction will consider investment projects, monitor and sum up the situation of investment, exploitation, mineral processing for construction materials, cement; give a report on implementation results to the Municipal People’s Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. 

Furthermore, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is in charge of managing mineral exploitation activities; enhancing inspection and handling of violation cases as stipulated by law; strengthening communication, popularization on regimes, policies on managing mineral exploitation activities, technology transfer, innovation and modernization.


Similarly, the Department of Science and Technology is tasked to cooperate with the Department of Industry and Trade to popularize the national key program on innovating, modernizing technology for mineral exploitation and processing among enterprises which founded the fund for science and technology development, organizations having registration licenses in the field of research, exploitation and processing of minerals.

Meanwhile, basing on their functions, missions and authorities, People’s Committees of districts and towns will ask functional agencies to carry out the project in localities; encourage units to innovate, modernize technology in exploiting, ensuring safety and protecting environment; promote inspection of mineral exploitation activities (if any) of organizations, individuals; handle or recommend handling of violation cases relating to mineral exploitation, etc.

Besides, mining units in the capital city will be responsible for setting up and performing programs, plans, roadmaps on replacing, innovating and modernizing equipments, technology to improve labor productivity, efficiency of mineral exploitation and processing as well as to protect environment; improving the abilities of managing, operating production, developing and applying science and technology and so on.
