The first foundation brick to Vietnamese farming industry in the world

The first 400 tonnes of chicken officially exported to Japan last weekend was a historic landmark of Vietnamese farming industry.

Vietnamese poultry meat can now access to the world markets, especially to such a difficult market as Japan.
For a long time from the end of 2016 until now, our livestock industry has been in a severe crisis when the output price continuously drops below the cost, especially pork, chicken and poultry eggs. Apart from unplanned livestock production and unbalanced supply and demand, according to experts' analysis, this is also resulted from limited export of livestock products.
According to statistics from the Department of Livestock production (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), we have only exported frozen pork to Hong Kong (China) and Malaysia. For poultry eggs, there are only five enterpisrises currently exporting salted duck eggs and quail eggs to some markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. Remarkably, chicken is only produced and consumed domestically. The main cause is that Vietnamese livestock products do not meet the requirements of other countries in controlling diseases, food hygiene and safety, residues of antibiotics and slaughtering ...
After more than a year of negotiating with the Japanese Veterinary Agency and instructing the local enterprises on the dossiers, procedures as well as the necessary requirements, with the efforts of both the State management agencies and enterprises, the first eggs was officially entered the Japanese market. This achievement is resulted from coordination between Bel Ga Jsc, De Heus Group, Hung Nhon Group (Binh Phuoc) and Koyu & Unitek. The entire process of raising and slaughtering is strictly controlled and regularly monitored by Japanese partners. In spite of the huge investment cost, chicken exports also bring about 20% profit.
According to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, the successful export of chicken to Japan show that our level of production and slaughter has been improved significantly. Getting into this market will open more opportunities of exporting to other markets. In other words, this will be an important foundation brick for Vietnam to reorganize our production and enhance the exports of animal products.
