The invalid and more than 600 false legs

With the desire to dedicate and help the unfortunate fate of society, in the past 12 years, the old war veteran, Dr. Le Thanh Do (72 years old) has opened the workshop, producing free prosthetics for more than 600 disable people who have difficulty in integrating into the community.

Talking with us, the old doctor Le Thanh Do (former Head of Orthopedic Techniques - University of Labor and Social Affairs) said that he himself is a war veteran with a disability rate of 61%, so he understands the difficulty whose body is missing a part.

On the pension, salary subsidy for wounded soldiers, Dr. Do have called for more friends in the industry and international organizations to collaborate to save the purchase of tools and equipment. Up to now, his prosthetics workshop was like a miniature hospital. Over the past 12 years, every disabile person with difficult life has come to the doctor and they are all happy to receive invaluable gifts from him. They come from many places in North, Central and South provinces of Vietnam, with different forms of disability, but all have the same desire, there is a new body parts to make life more convenient.

There are nearly 50 years of experience in orthodontic treatment, but Dr. Le Thanh Do has never complained. He is always searching, learning more to bring advanced and effective techniques to be applied in his workshop.

Continuing research to help the disable to have a better life, how to enjoy his old age is special and meaningful. "Giving away does not mean getting back", said Dr. Le Thanh Do, the greatest joy of old age is simply to help more disable people, create opportunities, help them have a career to make a living. His orthodontic instruments will be invaluable encouragement to disable people and their families.
