The Prime Minister attends "Businesses – momentum for national economy" conference
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired an online conference themed "Businesses – momentum for national economy" with enterprises across the country in HCM City on April 29.
The conference is expected to spread his message that enterprises serve as a momentum for national economic development.
Attending the meeting were the Deputy Prime Ministers: Truong Hoa Binh, Vuong Dinh Hue, Vu Duc Dam, and Trinh Dinh Dung.
The conference held at Thong Nhat Hall in HCM City drew the participation of 300 representatives from businesses, including State, non-State, joint stock and FDI firms, cooperatives, domestic and foreign associations like the American Chamber of Commerce and the European Chamber of Commerce, and local leaders, who can join the conference directly or online.
The forum was connected with 62 provinces through the internet.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc said the conference affirms the Government’s determination to protect enterprises in the face of multiple obstacles and the unsafe business climate.
The VCCI Chairman stressed the needs of accelerating drastic administrative and policies reform to reduce strongly official and unofficial expenses for businesses.
VCCI Chairman Loc noted that businesses hope the Government will deliver an action plan to boost the private economic sector, and effectively carry out programs to improve the investment and trade environment to make Vietnam’s business environment one of the 4 most favorable in ASEAN.
At the conference, a representative of Japanese Business Association in Vietnam said that Vietnam needs to focus on investing in the field of information technology and software.
Vietnam's agriculture has many strengths with extensive products and Japanese companies are willing to cooperate with Vietnamese enterprises to develop agriculture of the two countries, according to the Japanese Business Association.
The European Business Association in Vietnam recommended to promote cooperation with Vietnam in renewable energy, and proposed to be permitted to open representative offices of European businesses.
Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh affirmed that the Ministry will continue to create the best conditions for enterprises in implementing administrative procedures and advise the Government to develop a new policy framework in order to meet integration requirements.
Making a speech to conclude the conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked enterprises to be proactive in doing business, and build their integration strategy as well as culture of integration and entrepreneurs.
The Prime Minister stressed that the State will protect the legitimate rights and ensure enterprises' business operations in accordance with the law.
