"The Seoul’s Days in Hanoi 2016" promotes multi-faceted cooperation between cities

On the occasion of "The Seoul’s Days in Hanoi 2016", leaders of Hanoi and Seoul cities had a meeting on October 28 to discuss on promoting cooperation between the two capitals.

Permanent Deputy Chairman of Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan received the delegation of Seoul capital (Republic of Korea) led by Mr. Liu Gyoung gee, first Deputy Mayor of the city on October 28.
The delegation paid the working visit to Hanoi on the occasion of "The Seoul’s Days in Hanoi 2016", which kicked off in the capital on October 28.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said, in the recent time, Hanoi and Seoul have maintained the high-ranking visits, exchange of delegations, contributing to promote the friendly relations as well as expand cooperation opportunities between Vietnam and  the RoK in general and the two cities in particular.
Tuan highlighted that the RoK is one of Hanoi’s leading trade partners with over 1,000 cooperation projects worth nearly 6 billion USD.
Last August, the “Hanoi’s Days in Seoul" programme was held successfully, he added.
Tuan noted that the process of cultural exchange between the two cities is considered as an important basis for broader and deeper cooperation in various areas such as urban development, tourism, economy, trade, thus promoting the strategic partnership between the two countries.
For his part, Liu Gyoung gee expressed his impressions to the development of Hanoi capital.
He affirmed that Seoul and Hanoi have many similarities in lifestyles, architecture and urban development objectives, that are very suitable to expand bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the future.
According to Liu Gyoung gee, "The Seoul’s Days in Hanoi 2016" programme makes a chance to introduce the Korean unique culture to Hanoi’s residents, helping to strengthen the mutual understanding between the two peoples, thereby creating a solid foundation for extensive cooperation between the two nations.
The same day, Deputy Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Hong Son had a meeting with Mr. Liu Gyoung gee.
During the reception, Deputy Chairman Son said that the cooperation between the two cities needs to further develop to commensurate with potentials in the coming time.
Hanoi city hopes to cooperate with Seoul in the fields of e-government building, residential management and urban in the time ahead, Son noted.
Particularly, the event "The Seoul’s Days in Hanoi 2016", a symbol for emotional lively friendship between the capitals, will surely contribute to strengthen Hanoi - Seoul close friendship ties, Deputy Chairman Le Hong Son stressed.
