"I cannot close my eyes when I have not been able to help disadvantaged students" - that is the words of teacher Ngo Manh Cuong (teacher of Son Cong Secondary School, Ung Hoa District, Hanoi).
Although busy with teaching work, over the past 13 years, Cuong has devoted himself to volunteer work, calling for and mobilizing for the difficult circumstances in the locality.
As a dedicated teacher with the profession, Mr. Ngo Manh Cuong has been 37 years of teaching, 30 years as a manager. With the heart of the teacher who always loves students, not only interested in learning his children, Cuong is also known as the charity fundraiser, helping many cases of serious illness, the fragile life.
Thanks to the familiar relationships, Ngo Manh Cuong has mobilized funding to help his students have more money to buy books, clothes, learning tools. Not only that, Cuong also deducted a small portion of his teacher's salary to support his students.
During his years of working and living in Son Cong Commune, Ngo Manh Cuong has helped many of his poor students continue to study and dozens of difficult neighbors to overcome the difficulties of life. Up to now, Cuong has mobilized, called for supporting 25 families in difficult circumstances with a total amount of about 900 million.
With his contribution over the past decade, in 2015 and 2016, Ngo Manh Cuong was awarded the title of "Good people, good deeds" by the Hanoi People's Committee. In the eyes of colleagues, students as well as local people, Cuong is always a shining example of how to live a simple life with compassion.
