Just over two hours southwest of Hanoi, Ba Khan Valley in Hoa Binh, administratively part of Phu Tho Province due to recent restructuring, is often dubbed “Ha Long Bay in the mountains.” Wrapped in mist year-round, the valley features stunning views of the Da River at sunrise and is perfect for kayaking, cycling, or exploring local caves and hot springs. The Ba Khan Village Resort, with its infinity pool, has become a favorite check-in spot for travelers.

To the northeast, Huu Lung Grassland in the northern province of Lang Son offers vast meadows and tranquil lakes that appear during the rainy season.
