UNIDO official honoured for contributions to Vietnam’s agriculture
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has honoured the Head of Vietnam Office of the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), Patrick J. Gilabert, for his contributions to Vietnam’s agriculture via the successful implementation of many projects.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam presented the ministry’s insignia “For the Cause of Agricultural and Rural Development” to the UNIDO official at a ceremony in Hanoi on June 22.
The Deputy Minister said UNIDO Vietnam under the leadership of Gilabert has worked closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development over the past five years on many programmes and projects from building new rural areas to boosting income and creating jobs for poor people.
These programmes and projects have brought positive impacts to new rural area and agricultural management agencies at all levels, affirmed Nam.
Gilabert said UNIDO could help Vietnam’s agricultural products meet standards on food safety for exports and he himself will continue assisting Vietnamese agricultural products in reaching customers across the world.
