U.S President Donald Trump: Vietnam is a “great miracle”

Upon the invitation from the Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, the President of the United States Donald Trump is having a state visit to Vietnam from November 11 – 12, 2017.

On November 11, the U.S. president Donald Trump attended a state dinner hosted by his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang before the state visit Sunday in Hanoi. Speaking at the dinner, on behalf of the country and Vietnamese people, the Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang warmly welcomed the U.S President Donald Trump along with the delegation coming to Vietnam, particularly at an exiting period in the relation between Vietnam – U.S.

The Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang remembered the long history of the relation between Vietnam – U.S, since the day when the President Ho Chi Minh traveled around the world, and stopped by at Boston, Massachusetts state – where U.S revolution took place. Now the two sides have overcome differences in history to establish Comprehensive partnership, respect each other and its respective independence, its sovereignty and political institution, with an aim for a peaceful, stable and developing Asia – Pacific. 

“Your presence along with other U.S valuable guests to Hanoi upon our visit is the evidence that leaders of the two countries appreciate the comprehensive partnership Vietnam – Hoa Ky, and opening up a vast future for new pages in the bonds between our nations” – Mr. Quang said.

The Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang also congratulated Mr. Trump to have efficient working days in the APEC economic leaders’ week 2017 held in Danang, which contributed significantly to the success of the event. Especially is Mr. Trump’s speech, with the strong commitment of U.S to the Asia/Indo-Pacific and other regions. The Vietnamese President hoped U.S will actively hold an important role in the region. 


Quoting Mr. Trump’s speech “No dream is too big, no challenge is too great. Nothing we want for our future is beyond our reach”, Mr Quang believed, in the context of a dynamic region and the world, the comprehensive relation between Vietnam and U.S will play a key role contributing to the peaceful, stable, cooperative and developing in region and the world. 

In response, the U.S President Donald Trump expressed his honor to visit Vietnam at times when the relationship between two countries are improving significantly. The U.S President Donald Trump congratulated on Vietnam’s development, calling the country “one of the miracles of the world”. "It's very impressive no matter where you come from, no matter who you are, when you look at what's happened in Vietnam, there is nothing more impressive," Mr. Trump said.

The President of the U.S expected to have more opportunities to meet Mr. Quang, as no joy is comparable to the current development in the U.S – Vietnam relation. On this occasion, the President of the U.S shared his condolences to the loss of people and asset in Vietnam due to typhoon Damrey, stating his belief that the country will soon overcome difficulties and loss.
