Viet Nam-Singapore trade turnover reached SGD20.4 billion (US$15.6 billion) in 2014, up 20.3% compared to the previous year.
Viet Nam earned SGD4.05 billion (US$3.1 billion) from exporting to Singapore, up 22.4%. The exports of phones, electronics and spare parts took the lead with SGD1.32 billion, up 21.5%, followed by machines and equipment with SGD473 million and crude oil with SGD460 million, up 25.9% and 26.8%, respectively.
Viet Nam’s import turnover from Singapore saw an increase of 20.1%, obtaining SGD16.34 billion (US$12.75 billion). Singapore’s five largest export items to Viet Nam included phones, electronics and spare parts SGD4.59 billion, up 26.5%, oil SGD3.7 billion, up 25%, machines and equipment SGD1.76 billion, up 13.2%, plastics SGD1 billion, up 16.7% and magazines, photos and printed products SGD907 million, up 22.4%.
