Viet Nam’s export turnover to Egypt in the first quarter of 2014 reached US$81.42 million, a year-on-year increase of 40.7%, according to the Viet Nam Customs.
Aquatic and farm products led Viet Nam’s export items with US$28.94 million, accounting for 35.5% of the total.
Of them, aquatic products earned US$16.11 million, peppercorn, US$10.76 million and coffee, US$2.06 million.
Exports of fiber and garment increased 27 times to US$11.46 million.
Other items witnessed soars in exports such as iron and steel US$1.58 million, up 184%, vehicles US$4.67 million, up 59%, machines and equipment US$4.26 million, up 10.2%.
Import turnover from Egypt over the past three months was estimated at US$2.1 million.
