Vietnam’s fastest growing airline Vietjet today announced the opening of the air route connecting Taipei (Taiwan) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), with the maiden flight scheduled on December 12.
According to a Vietjet representative, the low-cost airline plans to add routes linking other destinations in Taiwan, such as Kaohsiung and Taichung with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in the near future, at the best possible fares.
The new route will initially operate five round trips per week from Monday to Sunday (excluding Thursdays and Saturdays), which will offer a weekly capacity of 1,800 seats. The flight duration per section is three hours and 25 minutes. The flight will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 2.30pm (Vietnam time) and arrive in Taipei at 6.55pm (Taiwan time). Coming in the opposite direction, the flight will depart Taipei at 8pm (Taiwan time) and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 10.25pm (Vietnam time).
To celebrate the opening of the new route, Vietjet will be giving away thousands of free air tickets from November 11 to 13 at www.vietjetair.com. The promotion, which applies to travel from December 12, 2014 to March 27, 2015, is available via online channel only.
All you have to do is click on www.vietjetair.com (compatible on smartphones) and www.facebook.com/vietjettaiwan (click on the “Đặt vé” tab). Payment can be made easily with Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express or any ATM card registered for internet banking. The travel period for the promotion is December 12, 2014 to March 27, 2015 (excluding public holidays).
“These are exciting times for the aviation industry in Asia. Millions of people flying for the very first time in new and modern aircraft and countries are now closer than ever before,” said Desmond Lin, Vietjet Business Development Manager.
“For the Vietnamese in Taiwan and the Taiwanese community in Vietnam, the opening of this flight will help families and friends maintain close relationships. This new route will also boost bilateral ties between Vietnam and Taiwan in terms of tourism, business and cultural exchange. We appreciate the great support from customers and enterprises in Taiwan and we are looking forward to receiving their continued support in the future,” Mr. Lin added.
Flying with Vietjet, passengers availing of the SkyBoss package can enjoy a premium waiting lounge and other priority boarding services. All passengers can also order one of nine delicious meals, served by the airline’s famously friendly and enthusiastic flight attendants, and enjoy many other in-flight services, such as Duty Free shopping, while relaxing in a luxurious leather seat on one of Vietjet’s brand new Airbus jets.
Vietjet has quickly won passengers’ hearts to become the most favorite airline in Vietnam and in the region since 2011. The airline operates a new and lively fleet with comfortable leather seats of choice to reach 21 destinations locally and globally. With friendly and dedicated staff, Vietjet is always making every effort to offer customers best services, such as convenient online booking, yummy meals, and unbeatable fares.
