Vietnam actively promoting tourism in int’l markets

Vietnam’s travel and tourism agencies have actively promoted Vietnam as a peaceful, hospitable and attractive destination to tourism markets around the world through a number of international tourism fairs.

As part of activities for the National Tourism Promotion Programme, a delegation led by General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Van Tuan is currently attending the International Tourism Fair ITB in Berlin, Germany from March 4-8.
Germany is now a target market for Vietnam’s tourism with over 142,000 German nationals visiting Vietnam in 2014, a 45.7 percent increase from 2013.
ITB 2015 sees the participation of over 10,000 travel agencies from 186 countries.

Along with exhibitions on services and products, the fair includes forums, workshops and press conferences, offering opportunities for participating firms to seek cooperation and establish partnerships as well as discuss ways to further promote their country’s tourism industry.
From March 19-22, Vietnamese travel companies will introduces their products and services at the International Tourism and Travel Trade Fair 2015 (TUR 2015) in Gothenborg, Sweden, designed to enhance cooperation in developing and tapping tourism markets in North European countries, including Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
Vietnam continues to consider North Europe an emerging and promising market for its tourism industry. TUR 2015 presents a good chance for the country’s management agencies and travel firms to seek partners in the market and attract visitors from the region.
To increase the exchange of visitors between Vietnam and India, the VNAT, in conjunction with the Vietnamese Embassy in India, will arrange a pavilion displaying Vietnam’s tourist products at the Global Exhibition on Services (GES) to be held in India from April 23-25.
On the occasion, a Vietnam-India tourism workshop will be organised in New Delhi coupled with tourism promotion in Hyderabad and Chennai cities to forge links between the two countries’ localities and firms operating the field.
Vietnam also took part in Iran’s 8 th international tourism fair last month with the country’s booth attracting Iranian visitors and travel agencies interested in learning about Vietnam’s tourism.
Looking forward, the VNAT said the sector will focus on expanding new and retaining traditional markets to develop Vietnam’s international tourism.
