Recently, a link to the site http://vietnamair-flyer.club/ started appearing on social networks with promises to offer two Vietnam Airlines air tickets to customers who participate in online surveys and share information on social networks. This may be a scam through which unauthorised individuals are fishing for personal information or inadvertently assist in deceiving others on the cyberspace.
In order to prevent the increasingly sophisticated impersonation attempts, Vietnam Airlines recommends customers to stay vigilant when it comes to promotional information from unknown websites and not share their personal information, account information or log on to these websites. Vietnam Airlines also requested customers to warn others to protect themselves, their families, friends, and relatives.
Vietnam Airlines announced its estimated revenue at VND88,400 billion (US$3.8 billion) in 2017, some 23.5% increase year-on-year. Particularly, the total revenue of the parent company Vietnam Airlines Corporation alone has been estimated at VND66,200 billion (US$2.9 billion) with pre-tax profit of VND1,550 billion (US$67 million), some 8% increase against 2016. Its State budget contribution has nearly doubled to over VND1,900 billion (US$83 million) during the year, Vietnam Airlines said.
In 2017, Skytrax, a UK-based consultancy firm which runs an airline and airport review and ranking, has placed Vietnam Airlines 14th among 20 carriers offering the world’s best premium economy class experience. It is the second year in a row that Vietnam Airlines has been listed on the global top 50 by SkyTrax.
In addition, Vietnam Airlines has been named as the world's leading airline in the premium economy class and the world's leading cultural airline at World Travel Awards 2017. Vietnam Airlines’ premium economy class seats are currently available for flights to France, the UK, Germany, Australia, and Japan.
