Vietnam attends offshore oil technology conference in Malaysia

Vietnamese representatives joined 15,000 leading experts, scientists and mangers in the oil and gas industry from 65 countries and territories at the 2014 Offshore Technology Conference Asia (OTC Asia) in Malaysia on March 25-28.

They came from the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and its affiliates, together with Vietnam-Russia joint venture Vietsovpetro.

As the largest regional event in the oil and gas industry, OTC Asia 2014 gave participants a good opportunity to exchange ideas and share the development trends of the industry through two plenary sessions and 10 discussions.

During the conference, PetroVietnam and its members introduced their operations and capacity in providing oil and gas technical services as well as prospects for cooperation in the Vietnamese market.

More than 200 participating companies showcased their latest scientific and technological advances, along with modern machines and equipment in the field, at an exhibition forming part of the conference.

This is a great chance for Vietnam to access the latest oil and gas technologies as well as seek hi-tech partners in the industry, said PVD General Director Pham Tien Dung
