The event is among a series of activities to roll out the 2019 national tourism promotion program and attract more visitors from Japan. At the event, Vietnamese tourism potential, policies, destinations and tour packages will be presented to Japanese.
On this occasion, meetings between Vietnam's and Japan’s travel agencies are expected to be held to intensify cooperation and increase the number of Japanese visitors to Vietnam and vice versa.
Early, the Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) and Japan National Tourism Organization signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) to promote tourism between the two countries.
The most common concerns among Japanese overseas travelers are safety, language barriers, anxiety about health, and cumbersome travel  procedures.
According to Japanese tour operators, destinations in Vietnam's central region are currently most favored by Japanese tourists because of beautiful beaches, world heritage sites and natural resources.
In recent years, Japan has been among the most important markets for Vietnam’s tourism sector. In 2017, about 800,000 Japanese tourists traveled to Vietnam, up 7% against the previous year. Meanwhile, in the first eight months of 2018, Vietnam welcomed more than 465,000 holidaymakers from Japan.
